November 5th, 2008Reader reports say Roux 3 in Newtown Square is closed (and the website and OpenTable reservations are down). If you have any info, please post in the comments.

Phone message appears to invite reservations but they never return the call. We miss them. It was a great place for dinner.

It won’t be missed. Food was boring and service was poor.

it is definately closed. I thought food was always good, wine expensive, service spotty, and a bit strange. on the whole i enjoyed eating there, and the interior was very cool and New Yorkish. Now that i think of it they had the best Calamari and Mac and cheese.

I thought they had wonderful things coming out of the kitchen; but their front end didn’t seem up to the task.
They were just out of place. Too sophisticated for their location. That neighborhood seems to prefer big, cheap plates of ersatz Italian food…like Guiseppi’s or a Fellini Cafe…
Don’t remember who the executive chef was, but hope he surfaces elsewhere. I’d follow.
